So I would recommend that you have writers of a similar genre as you. Writers with similar interests are going to give more relevant feedback and input because those are the types of books they've been reading and writing. Some genre's overlap fairly well, sci-fi and fantasy for example.
Some genre's don't really relate all that well and the "insights/feedback" you would get isn't going to be as pertinent to your writing.
Depends on the purpose of the group. If you want to develop as a blogger in general, then yes. If you want to develop your content, then you'd want to create a group with people who discuss the same ideas and concepts.
